Build ingredients in a toddy mug, top with hot apple cider, and garnish with a thin apple slice and star anise.

*Vanilla syrup instructions: De-seed one vanilla pod and cut in to quarters. Steep in a cup of hot water, turn off heat, and add 1 cup of granulated sugar. Store covered for 24 hours and strain into a new container.
