Late Summer Cocktails

We aren't ready to say it is over. Sure, the kids are back to school, the calendar says September, but... we still have some more summer to do! 

Late summer fruits are just making their appearance, the tourists have gone away, the days are still warm, and we are going to squeeze out every ounce of Maine summer that we can!

The Kramble

The Kramble

Ingredients:

Directions:

Muddle blackberries in the bottom of a large rocks glass. Combine all other ingredients into a shaker tin with crushed ice. Dump on top of muddled blackberries. Top with more crushed ice. Garnish with more blackberries.

Blueberry Rosemary Sparkling Cooler

Blueberry Rosemary Sparkling Cooler

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Reyka Vodka
  • 1.5 oz Lemon Sour
  • 6 Blueberries
  • 1 Thyme
  • 1.5 oz Sparkling Wine
  • 3 Blackberries
  • 1 Sprig Rosemary
  • 3-5 Lime

Directions:

Muddle blueberry and rosemary. Add reyka and sour. Shake and strain into glass. Top with champagne. Garnish with rosemary and blueberry skewer

Ingredients:

Add all but SJ and ginger ale to glass and muddle. Add Sailor Jerry, pack with crushed ice and top with ginger ale. Garnish with mint and slice of grilled peach.

Bellini Manhattan

Ingredients:

Directions:

Fill a mixing glass with ice. Measure in the Maker’s Mark Bourbon, peach puree and vermouth. Add a dash of bitters. Cap and shake. Strain into large martini glass. Add a splash of champagne. Garnish with cherries on a pick.
*Gold gilded maraschino cherries:
1/2 cup maraschino cherries – Drain well, then dry on paper towels
1/4 teaspoon Gold Luster Dust –available at cake decorating stores or on-line.
Make the cherries in the container in which you are going to store them. It is important that the cherries are well drained. Place the cherries in the container and add the luster dust. Stir gently to coat cherries in gold. Store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
